Chapter 13 - Sunday 1pm

“I think I’ve found him!” shrieked Jasmin, bouncing up and down in Aarti’s leather chair. She had been sitting at the desk for nearly 30 minutes, typing fervently into Aarti’s laptop.

“His name is Raj Gupta, how could it possibly take you this long?!” Aarti sat in her pyjamas on the white bedspread, painting her finger nails the perfect shade of peach, to match her peach jumpsuit.

“There are like 4000 Raj Gupta’s in London. It took me some time to find the right one… His profile pics are actually quite cute, but the boy really likes his luminous shirts! You may need to talk to him about that!”

“I like colour!” Aarti responded defensively.

“You’ve got it bad!” Jasmin began clicking through all the pictures. “You need to come look at this. There’s this girl Payal, she has literally liked all his pictures, and commented on everything, it’s like she's peeing around him.”

Aarti jumped up off the bed, placed the nail varnish on the side table and ran over to the desk, she leaned over Jasmin and took control of the mouse pad. “She’s pretty, do you think they are together?” Aarti clicked into Payal’s profile “Why does she have so many pictures of her and Raj together? This is ridiculous, completely inappropriate, I’m so irritated right now!”

“They’re probably just friends!” Jasmin slowly moved Aarti’s hand out of the way and clicked back onto Raj’s profile. “He really likes going out doesn't he, he has literally checked in everywhere in London, look Nobu, Roka, Novikov…”

“Oh no, so you think he's a party boy… I want someone serious. I don’t think this is going to work out, what with his secret girlfriend, and his penchant for partying.” Aarti was now pacing from one end of her plush white bedroom to the other. “I always wanted a decent guy, not some partying cheater!”

“Aarti! They are all restaurants, really nice restaurants, not clubs, take a chill pill! And who exactly is he cheating on? His relationship status is firmly set to single…”

“Yes but Payal says ‘Its complicated’!!!" Aarti responded aggressively.

“Honey, you need to relax. She’s not with him! Lets check his LinkedIn, Insta and Snapchat it will give us greater clarity…” Jasmine said switching between windows.

“No, stop. This is driving me crazy, I can’t. I’m going to go there, ask my questions and let him define himself, rather than judging him on his online presence.” Aarti said composing herself.

“Ok, you get ready. i’ll just check my email.” Jasmine said gently.

Aarti left the room and walked into her walk in wardrobe to get dressed as Jasmine typed “Raj Gupta” into Google.
